Happy Memorial Day! We welcome to Northeast Delta Dental Radio Harry Miller and Mark Sullivan of the Easter Seals Veterans Services Program. Harry and Mark will share with us how the Easter Seals Veterans Services Program and the Veterans Count have changed in recent years, the needs and challenges that deploying service members and their families have, and how the NH National Guard, Department of Health and Human Services, and Easter Seals collaborate on the Veterans Services Program. Also covered will be some of the upcoming Veterans Count events. The mission of the program is "to provide critical and timely funds and services to veterans and their families, that are not being met by other sources, to ensure their dignity, health and overall well being." Chris Parkinson joins us on this podcast to share about a trip that he took in February with the Rotary International to Honduras. Over the last 30 years, Rotary District 7870 (includes 60 Rotary clubs in Southern NH and Southern VT) has sent mission trips and aid to Honduras, which is the second poorest country in the western hemisphere. Amigos De Honduras is a program the Rotary District 7870 and since 2001, has concentrated its efforts in three areas:
- Medical Care - more than 22,000 medical and dental patients.
- School construction & education - constructed 5 new schools, expanded 4 schools, and converted 2 buildings into schools.
- Pure water - working with another Rotary partner, Pure Water for the World, installed over 10,000 water filters which provides clean water to more than 50,000.

Heather Brown, Network Representative for Northeast Delta Dental joins us on our show this weekend to share about how Oral Health & WIC (Women, Infants, & Children) Nutrition programs are working together for healthier children in New Hampshire. Heather was working on this project as a field study when she was an MPH grad student at the University of New Hampshire. Please join us to learn more about this project and how it is helping children here in New Hampshire. The project was funded in part by Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital and the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation.

There is still lots of snow around, and it may not look like baseball weather, however, preparations are underway at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium for the opening day celebration for the 10th anniversary season of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats! Mike Ramshaw joins us on this weekend's broadcast to share about the Fisher Cats Oral Health Challenge and the 2013 season. The Oral Health Challenge had 750 participants in 2012 and they are well on the way to exceed that in 2013. The challenge is for kids to brush twice and floss once daily for a week, complete the challenge form, and submit it to the Fisher Cats to earn two free tickets to a select game at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Opening Day is on April 4, 2013 and the team will be wearing the old jerseys from the 1st season, and there will be a commemorative ticket giveaway.
