World Run-Paddle Biathlon Championship

Tom Walton joins Tom Raffio for a sports themed show on the World Run-Paddle Biathlon Championship and the Cardboard Boat Imitative.  The World Run-Paddle Biathlon combines the disciplines of running and paddling.  The event is held on May 15^th and proceeds benefit New Hampshire Technical Institute X-C programs.  Our program will also discuss the Cardboard Boat initiative that is being introduced in Concord area elementary schools.

Tom Raffio and Jackie Cowell of Early Learning NH discuss the new science about early childhood development and why children are the bedrock of the Granite State.  Hear what facilitates development, what derails it, and, whether we’re a business leader or a parent or a grandparent, what we can do today to make sure every child gets a great start.

The Children's Museum of New Hampshire

Calling all Kids!  Our weekend show is just for you with a presentation about the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire.  Jane Bard, President of the museum is our guest and she will talk about some exciting things happening at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire.  Our program will cover a brief history of the museum, why folks would want to visit, programs and events, and a new project they are featuring, which is the STEAM Innovation Lab.  STEAM is the acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math).  Join us on the radio and be sure to visit the museum located at 6 Washington Street in Dover.  You may also find them on the web at www.childrens-museum.org.

Wellness Weekends

Amber Ferreira joins us this weekend on Northeast Delta Dental Radio for a show on Weekend Wellness!  Our program will focus on road races and the benefits of running.  Amber will discuss the importance of exercise as preventive healthcare, local racing and the awesome New Hampshire racing scene.  We will look at the CARS schedule of events and a look back at some of the 100 plus races that Tom participated in during the 2015 season.  Join us for a fun filled program on running and see you on the course.

An Update from the Seacoast Science Center

Ashley Stokes is our guest this weekend for an Update from the Seacoast Science Center!  The Seacoast Science Center is a non-profit marine science education organization located in historic Odiorne Point State Park on the New Hampshire coast.  Ashley will talk with us about the NH Marine Mammal Rescue Program as well as the many events happening at the center this year.  A new exhibit they are excited about is A Hurricane Hits Home!, an interactive show that teaches how scientists look to the bottom of the ocean after big storms to locate sunken ships and other dangerous debris.  Join us on the radio and check out the science center on the web at www.seacoastsciencecenter.org.

Let's Play Ball - Fisher Cats 2016 Season and Oral Health Challenge

Spring has arrived and it is time to 'Play Ball'.  The 2016 Fisher Cats season is just days away from starting and Mike Ramshaw is here to share about all the exciting things happening with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.  The Oral Health Challenge continues this year and provides the opportunity for children to earn two free tickets to a game. 

We celebrate the 100^th anniversary of the NH Primary this year and the Fisher Cats are having a little fun with this as they will be wearing ‘Bipartisan Jerseys’ on opening day.  There will be two ‘Primary’ giveaways – Primaries Tin Lunch Box on July 24 and Primaries Bobblehead on August 30.  Star Wars night returns on June 25 and the Fisher Cats host the Future Red Sox on July 4^th.

WIC Pay for Prevention Project

Hope Saltmarsh is our guest this weekend and she will talk with us about the New Hampshire Department of Public Health Services WIC Pay for Prevention Project.  The project provides dental services to WIC (Pregnant women, infants, and children up to age 5) clients at three sites in the state.  The goal of the program is to improve access, improve oral health, and decrease care costs.  As of September 2015, the program served 573 children and 123 women.  Join us on the radio to learn more about the WIC Pay for Prevention Program!
