Tom Walton joins Tom Raffio for a sports themed show on the World Run-Paddle Biathlon Championship and the Cardboard Boat Imitative. The World Run-Paddle Biathlon combines the disciplines of running and paddling. The event is held on May 15th and proceeds benefit New Hampshire Technical Institute X-C programs. Our program will also discuss the Cardboard Boat initiative that is being introduced in Concord area elementary schools.

Our program will cover a brief history of the museum, why folks would want to visit, programs and events, and a new project they are featuring, which is the STEAM Innovation Lab. Ashley Stokes is our guest this weekend for an Update from the Seacoast Science Center! The Seacoast Science Center is a non-profit marine science education organization located in historic Odiorne Point State Park on the New Hampshire coast. Ashley will talk with us about the NH Marine Mammal Rescue Program as well as the many events happening at the center this year. A new exhibit they are excited about is A Hurricane Hits Home!, an interactive show that teaches how scientists look to the bottom of the ocean after big storms to locate sunken ships and other dangerous debris. In the early 1990s, Northeast Delta Dental formed a coalition of individuals, professional associations, and agencies in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont with a vested interest in the health and welfare of children to promote the Prevent Abuse and Neglect through Dental Awareness (P.A.N.D.A.) program with the support of the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation. Spring has arrived and it is time to 'Play Ball'. The 2016 Fisher Cats season is just days away from starting and Mike Ramshaw is here to share about all the exciting things happening with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The Oral Health Challenge continues this year and provides the opportunity for children to earn two free tickets to a game.
We celebrate the 100th anniversary of the NH Primary this year and the Fisher Cats are having a little fun with this as they will be wearing ‘Bipartisan Jerseys’ on opening day. There will be two ‘Primary’ giveaways – Primaries Tin Lunch Box on July 24 and Primaries Bobblehead on August 30. Star Wars night returns on June 25 and the Fisher Cats host the Future Red Sox on July 4th.

Hope Saltmarsh is our guest this weekend and she will talk with us about the New Hampshire Department of Public Health Services WIC Pay for Prevention Project. The project provides dental services to WIC (Pregnant women, infants, and children up to age 5) clients at three sites in the state. The goal of the program is to improve access, improve oral health, and decrease care costs. As of September 2015, the program served 573 children and 123 women.
