What is New Horizons for New Hampshire? Join us on Northeast Delta Dental Radio as Charlie Sherman, Executive Director for New Horizons shares with us about the organization. In a nutshell, New Horizons is an adult homeless shelter, a soup kitchen, food pantry, and operates Angie’s Shelter for Women. The homeless shelter provides meals, a place to stay, and a variety of services for the clients. Angie’s Shelter provides a safe structured, home-like environment for women 18+ that need to rebuild their lives. The soup kitchen serves breakfast and dinner daily – about 250 meals each day. The food pantry provides groceries to impoverished families and individuals in the Manchester area. Chris Parkinson and Gerry Carrier join us this weekend on Northeast Delta Dental Radio for an update from Rotary International and what is happening in the local Rotary clubs. Our conversation will cover the 2016 Rotary Mission Trip to Honduras. Since the mission trip began in 2001, approximately 26,000 medical and dental patients have been served. Over 12 tons of medical supplies have been sent along with 7 – 40’ containers of medical equipment. The group has also constructed seven schools, expanded three, and converted two buildings into schools. Join us to learn more about the missions trip and an update on a local fundraiser event to support community needs, the Bow Rotary Car Show.
