The 2016 Granite State Baseball Dinner presented by Northeast Delta Dental is the feature of this weekend’s broadcast and we are joined by Jenna Raizes of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to share all the exciting things taking place at the dinner. The dinner is a fundraising event with proceeds benefiting CHaD, Ted Williams Museum, and the Fisher Cats Foundation. In 2015, more than $140,000 was raised through tickets, silent and live auctions, and raffle ticket sales. Since 2007, more than $1.42 million has been raised through the dinner. Guests will not only enjoy a delicious meal, they will also be able to meet special guests, collect autographs, enjoy special presentations, and participate in a silent and real auction. It’s Halloween and soon little kidos will be bouncing around the neighborhood dressed as little ghosts and ghouls in search of a bounty of sweet treats. Our program this week offers tips on what to do with these sweet treats and ways to help with your children’s oral health during the Halloween season. Dr. Randi Tillman joins us for a discussion on Kids and Candy! Our conversation will include “Is it realistic to think that kids won’t have candy on Halloween?”, “Is there a right way and a wrong way to eat candy?”, “Are all candies created equal?”, “Candies to avoid.”, “Are there any ‘good’ candies?”, and we will share a few tips on “What else can parents do to lessen the risk of tooth decay from Halloween candy?”. Calling all golfers! The 19th Annual Dr. Thurston J. Carpenter Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Breakfast Hill Golf Club in Greenland, NH. Joe Kasper joins Tom Raffio on this weekend's broadcast to share about the tournament, its history, and purpose. The tournament is a fund-raiser for the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation and all net proceeds will be used to fund oral health programs in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont and to fund Northeast Delta Dental's own program, Prevent Abuse and Neglect through Dental Awareness (P.A.N.D.A.).
