Lisa McCoy joins us this weekend to chat about the Northeast Delta Dental Mount Washington Road Race that takes place on June 19 and 20, 2021. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the annual tradition of running the race. Runners face a 4,650 gain in elevation over a 7.6 mile course up the auto road to the summit of Mount Washington. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the race this year will be run in two days with women running on Saturday and the men running on Sunday. The race proceeds over the past years have provided over $125k for the dental programs at Coos County Family Health Services.

Phil Taub joins us on this weekend’s broadcast to share about Swim With A Mission. Swim With A Mission’s main purpose is to raise money for veterans. Since 2017, the organization has raised over $6 million for veterans through various events such as a corporate paintball shoot and the annual Swim Race and Festival held on Newfound Lake in July. Recipients of Swim with a Mission proceeds include The National Navy SEAL Museum, Veterans Count, Harbor Homes, Children of Fallen Patriots, and the Dan Healy Foundation. This weekend, we are going to take a trip down to Portsmouth, NH to visit The Music Hall and enjoy a conversation with the Executive Director, Tina Sawtelle. Tina will share with us the challenges that The Music Hall faced with the COVID-19 pandemic and how they adapted their program offerings. In addition to offering small scale outdoor events with local artists, The Music Hall hosted a record-setting ‘Fill the Hall’ food drive event where families and friends donated $75,000 in cash and 26,590 pounds of food (filling every seat in the theater with bags of food) to support Gather, the Seacoast Family Food Pantry. Dr. Larissa Baia, President of Lakes Region Community College is our guest for this weekend’s broadcast to share about the college and its educational program offerings. The college is located in Laconia, NH, was established in 1967, and is one of the seven colleges that make up the Community College System of New Hampshire.
